What I Remember About You

This painting was started shortly after the death of a school friend, which got me interested in how memory works and why some things are remarkably clear and others soft and hazy. Focusing on the memories of time spent with my friend, I painted in "events", then covered them up with "time", each mark revealing or obscuring another representing the 30 years of friendship.

This 20x20" mixed media painting is primarily acrylic, featuring a neutral palette with metallic antique bronze. Created on a birch cradle panel with 1.5" deep sides painted black. Wired across the back for easy hanging, and varnished to protect from UV exposure. Shipping is included in the price for destinations within Canada and continental USA.
